I love Al’s burger shack! Anytime I get to Chapel Hill I stop in for a burger and tater tots. The burgers there are so delicious and the tater tots are crisp and crunchy. Today I got the chili burger and it was fantastic. I’m honestly glad that they aren’t around the corner from me or I would be there every day.

A hometown classic! The service was awesome and the food was delicious! Service was prompt and the staff was friendly! I’m not sure about handicap accessibility. The restaurant is small but there is an outside patio with a nice amount of seating. Parking is limited but it’s on the bus line. Kid friendly and family approved. Also good for a lunch date or meet up with friends!

Good food. I was able to have chicken instead of burger, which made me very happy. Good taste. French fries with the rosemary was a nice addition. Hubby had a burger and was happy. It was cooked well but not over done. Absolutely worth the trip.

I highly recommend Al's Burger Shack!! The food was EXCELLENT & the service was spectacular!! Al's has expanded & now has a bar, so were seated in that area. Unfortunately it rained hard so we couldn't eat outside because everything was soaked. I will DEFINITELY come back to Al's whenever I'm in the area.

The classic burger was great. The ingredients tasted very fresh and the meat was well seasoned and cooked. The sauce on the burger was great and the fries are okay but they have a nice seasoning on them. The service was very fast and the customer service was very nice and done with a smile.

Amazing - took our family there on Saturday night and it was truly 5 stars. Simple, outdoor seating overlooking Franklin Street, affordably priced and probably the best tasting cheeseburger I’ve ever had. Staff was pleasant and helpful. There are speciality burgers that I’ll try next time. A must-visit spot for burger lovers!

Great spot for a quick outdoor lunch. Tried the burger of month, hot pepper peach and half & half fries and tots (shared). Everything was delicious. Decent prices and perfect size portions.

By Phar an excellent place to get a burger and Tots… My students will walk to get food here when we have a conference at UNC because of how good it is. Game day tip… when you walk from Campus order your food online as you start walking, it will take your waiting time to walk there and it’s always hot (at least in my experiences… on )
